Is this mean all the unsold new Oppo’s out there will increase in price or decrease? I hate to see them go out of business as I have the bdp95 that works wonder and would like to upgrade to the 205.

I think you are seeing an increase in price as buyers are trying to jump on the bandwagon at the last minute.

Yeah, the 901 is based on an earlier OPPO player from what I can tell: http://www.audioaficionado.org/showthread.php?t=37286

As posted in another thread here, makes sense why Mc is clearing out the MVP901s with purchase of a HT processor. Not that I would've paid 10x the OPPO price for a Mc faceplate on that player anyhow.

Thanks Maks. That's what I thought.

For what is worth I own a Oppo 203 and use it as a 4k source to my OLED. It is a very nice player with out any frills meaning no support for streaming from Netflix or something similar.

It plays just about and disc format in existence and the remote is nice as well. If you are think of getting one I would try a local dealer or the companies web site. I have heard rumors of folks buying up large blocks of players.

Oppo will be missed. This player along with my MCT-450 will be the last optical media players I will purchase.

I want to say how sorry I am that this has happened. Oppo certainly has a following and obviously made an excellent product. Hopefully someone might buy them. Very sad.

Is subscription streaming/on demand popular in Europe? The trend is very clear here in the US. Streaming wins, players and soon physical media will be forgotten all together. http://variety.com/2018/digital/news...17-1202658638/
