The Mac definitely has a smoother, more natural presentation. The sound just has an ease about it...doesn't seem forced but just flows. I would say the Mac is just more emotionally involving. I need to do lots more listening before I make a decision...maybe I will have to keep both
Give it more time. When I hooked up my Pass amps I loved it one minute and had serious buyer's remorse just 6 hours later back to loving it the following day. Save any serious judgments for after two to three weeks of constant running. IMO you will love the Pass amps...whether you sell the 207 is another Q entirely but if you can only keep one...I beleive it's not even open to subjective likes/tastes.

What amp did you replace with the pass?

I hope you're right - but you do have the xa series and not the x, and the xa is supposed to be smoother and less contorlled than the x series. The overwhelming majority of people here seem to own xa series, fwiw.

Here's a thought - call Pass and talk to them about break in for the x250.5. Approximately how many hours? Try to keep a log because what you think is 50 hours might only be 25 hours.

Also, maybe Penthouse-D can weigh in on the x series break in. I saw that he has the x600.5.

I had a 250.5 and really liked it. Give it some time.

This hobby is too much fun to give up - that's for sure.

The x250.5 has been up and running for a week now and it sounds great. Any traces of sibilance are now gone. From the first day I owned a Mac amp it changed the way I looked at audio gear. With the Mac, the equipment just disappears and all that is left is the music. The Pass pushes those boundaries just slightly - being a tad more transparent and dynamic, but still sounds natural and smooth. Would love to compare it to the MC452....
