Already I can say they beat my B&W 802 Diamonds and I haven't even had a chance yet to really dial them in.

Congratulation with superb sounding, and beautiful speakers.

I'm a bit curious about the combo Vivid and ARC power amps. Can you say something about the ref 75 ability to drive them, and sound in general?

BR,
Sven

Do you want to position them so close the wall Ariess? I did a lot of experimenting and ended up having them a yard or so into the room. That really improved dynamics. Dragging those behemoths across the place is not necessarily good for your back but it may prove to be good for the sound. Btw -they look absolutely beautiful, you must be a happy customer

giya.jpgAs for Ref 75, yes they do very well. Most Ref 75 owners on AA are using it to drive
Wilson Sashas, Alexias and Sophias which have lower impedance and sensitivity than Giyas. Giyas are even easier to drive (higher min impedance and better phase curves) than the B&W 802 Diamonds I was using with the Ref 75. When I play them the needles barely moves on the Ref 75. And it has a very large power supply.

As for out into the room. I may be able to pull them forward a few inches and I have
an absorber panel directly behind them. I would love to pull them out farther but
the room has to double as a living room where small humanoids frolic. So I don't
have the depth for that. They are about 6-8 feet from side walls which helps.
One of the reasons I chose the Giyas was that with side ports (instead of rear ports) they
are more friendly to back walls. Here is another picture this morning.

Thanks for rotating my Giya. I was wondering why they didn't sound so good.

We have our Vivid Audio 5.0 system 4 years now (the G2s even a bit longer).
I can say today that we couldn't be happier.
They shone with our Burmester amps, they do it even more with full tube amplification now.
We will add a sub (or 2) later this year, but it is already pure joy as it is.
You can throw loud rock, acoustic jazz, large orchestral pieces at them, and they will each time deliver everything in a very musical way.
We never tire of listening (up to 10 hours per day during weekends).
They've really become part of our family!
