I looked at the thread title and read "Yamato" instead of "Yamamoto". I got all excited, and then perplexed when I didn't see this:

Gene,
I'm in the process of selling my traditional system and going to a headphone based system. I have a lot to learn in this new territory but what other headphone amps did you try before settling on the Yamamoto?

I'm especially curious as I'll be trying to find something in the headphone arena that exudes the same characteristics of another Japanese legend (Shindo).

When I picked up the HA-02, I had not tried a bunch of headphone amps. Just the usual headphone outs. Anyway, I really like the Ha-02, even now. My main headphone system is the Stax 007ii and 007 mkII.

This is the Yamamoto I speak of. I don't think anyone on the web has seen the underbelly of the 06-3 to me this is Erotic and Exotic.

This little guy is my favorite. I could post a photo of a tone arm / stylist that I doubt anyone has seen but it is X rated and I doubt it would be allowed by the moderator.
