Audiophilehi,

Amp/s on the floor on stands is an excellent idea. I once had my gear in between the speakers. Once relocated to the side wall and out of the way it was an epiphany when I sat down to listen again. If possible treat the back wall that will improve imaging and allow it to open up even more.

Thanks Sharp...I absolutely will be treating the wall behind the speakers as well as 1st reflection points with a mix of diffusion and absorption.

I really want to put my rack on the side in my new dedicated room when I move in next month but the cost of 15' - 20' Wireworld Silver Eclipse interconnects is downright frightening at that length.

All feedback welcome!

I like the idea of the gear behind the wall. Back in the day when I was a kid there were a lot of systems with the gear built into walls, doors, etc. Very retro in a good way.

Thanks Tom.... I think it would be a nice clean look. I’m also considering placing the speakers on the short wall so the equipment will on the side.

So many decisions.

I’d experiment with a few different physical speaker arrangements to see which one you like the best. I tend to like gear on the long wall if the room will accommodate it. Positioning the speakers away from side boundaries usually really opens up the presentation.

According to researchers Dr. L.D. Rosenblum, Dr. Harold Stolovitch and Dr Erica Keeps, here’s how much information each of our senses processes at the same time as compared to our other senses.

83.0% – Sight
11.0% – Hearing
03.5% – Smell
01.5% – Touch
01.0% – Taste

So I try to avoid the visual distraction of electronic kit between the speakers (indeed in any line of sight, but particularly the forward line) and ensure that the speakers look boring and are visually inoffensive.
