You got no idea.

How are the 800S's? I decided to listen to my 800's after giving you such a critical review, and they sound pretty good.

Now that our grand daughter is staying with us it became imperative that I found a headset I could wear all evening. So headphones went from use with the Pono (KEF M500 for that) only to a top priority.

After reading hundreds of reviews and finding almost none that were not raving about the HD 800 they peaked my interest. When I read about the subtle changes in the HD 800 S over the original it sounded like what I was looking for. And then when I found out that their high end balanced cable (sells for $380 separately) was coming in the box with the headphone it became a fairly easy decision.

So far I am very happy with them. The sound is pretty amazing but to me the comfort level is fantastic.

Be sure and talk to Ivan about the Wireworld cable at some point. It blows away an expensive stock XLR on Audeze.

I might do that. I know the one that Sennheiser is including is the same one that Dan uses. I assume he must have bought it separate because they were not including it with the HD 800, from my understanding anyway.

Randy.......Yep, I purchased the Sennheiser CH800S balanced headphone cable separately. In direct comparison with the Sennheiser unbalanced 1/4" jack headphone cable I found a slight improvement in sound stage focus using the balanced cable. Beyond that, the balanced and unbalanced Sennheiser HD800 cables are quite similar. I thoroughly enjoy my HD800 with the Sennheiser HDVA fully balanced Class A headphone amplifier. It is very pleasurable and comfortable for extended listening sessions..

Have you ever compared your Sennheiser amp to any other amps? If so, what were your thoughts?
