Limoncello
Had an occasion to be in Center City Philadelphia last week and had lunch in Stella Rossa at the corner of 9th & Walnut. Main course was good, if not spectacular (egg plant parmesan) but service from John was truly a cut above. Took care of our every need and explained all and recommended the 'Heavy Tucany' red (delicious) and house 'limoncello' after the meal. They make their own limoncello using grain alcohol. It was terrific. If had not had a 1:30 appointment we would have hung around and imbibed several, each. That good. Another big plus is the Illy coffee they serve (good thing - had to sober up ). Think it is my favorite. Never a bad cup (latte with a double espresso tossed in). And, can't forget the Oreo cookie/espresso cheese cake for dessert. Sounds a bit over-the-top, but was also made with the Illy brew. John steered us right on everything. Nice to have a waiter/waitress who knows their wares and craft. They seem to be so few these days. Headed back into CC on 7/7 and will have lunch at Parc Bistro & Café on Rittenhouse Square. Am thinking moules Normandes. So many restaurants.......... so little time.
