Hi Folks,

Sneak Peek - review of the Bryston 4B Cubed amplifier in Canada Hi-Fi Magazine:

"The new Bryston Cubed Series amplifiers are an evolution of the company's SST2 design; however, rather than an evolutionary step, I’d call this one more of a leap."

Full review coming June 1st.

Awesome, James, congrats, looking forward to the full review. I never had an SST2, but I can say that the 4B3 is the best amp I have owned in the 26 years since I got my first real stereo!

Hi Folks,

Apparently we have a review on the 4B Cubed in Hi-Fi News and Record Review magazine in the UK.

Will try to get a copy.

How big an upgrade would the new 3B be over my 3BST?

Hi Blackstone

When it comes to this kind of thing it is difficult to say because at this performance level we are talking about baby steps not giant leaps for mankind.

The differences will be in areas of transient control and noise floor improvements as well as sound stage and resolution improvements. Whether these manifest themselves in your specific system and to what degree will vary from system to system.

I think if you look at Bryston over the 40 plus years we have been doing this the audio signal is like a 'barbed wire' - and over the years we have been able to file down those barbs little by little in the pursuit of a 'straight wire with gain' goal.

Hope this helps.

james

Yes, it does, thank you sir! Is the 4B conceptually supposed to be a better amp or is it essentially at the same performance level as 3B but with more power? I guess I am asking if it is supposed to be qualitatively better rather than just quantitatively. Same dish, bigger portion?
