BTW, have not heard back from Manley (EvaAnne) nor Upscale Audio (Kevin Deal) about my reoccurring issues with the Chinook. Ivan, teach them about Customer Support. 👌

I just sent the Chino-ok SE back to Manley. My last time to do so. They would not send me a ribbon cable to try. If not ribbon cable then it will be the newly replaced main PCB. We'll see what transpires this round.

Kevin.......So let me get this straight. You purchased the Manley Chinook from Upscale Audio, correct? Then, in less than six months the nasty hum developed. Did Upscale Audio offer to help you in any way? Are you strictly on your own when dealing with the manufacturer or is Kevin Deal involved at some level to ensure your issue is solved? I get the feeling you are flying solo.

Like John Glenn I am flying solo. Reached out to Upscale Audio with no response so I took matters into my own hands. I have to say the service techs at Manley have been helpful yet this does nothing to make me feel any better about what has happened. i should never have had to pay for my initial shipment back to Manley for the PCB problem that they are updating on all Chinooks when they come in for service. They sent me a shipping label this time to send the unit back. Ivan's CS is second to none.

I have sent this link to both Kevin D. and EvaAnne M. with no response from either. I have read another thread from Esteban (Hector ) about his issue with Upscale.

Kevin.......It seems strange to me that one must buy the component from a dealer, not the manufacturer, yet when service is required during a warranty period you are abandoned by the dealer and must deal directly with the manufacturer who you can't buy from direct. The dealer, in this case Uptight.....err, Upscale Audio, takes your money and runs. Why does anyone need a dealer who fails to support their customer? I don't get it. Perhaps Manley needs to consider direct marketing. You will still have to deal directly with the manufacturer if there is an issue but at least you won't have been ripped by some middle man who does nothing more than ship a box for his cut of your money, then ignore your request for help when there is an issue.

Kevin... thank you kindly! an AA member recently purchased a brand new JL F113v2. Most irononically it arrived DOA; I got involved immediately, and have a brand new advanced replacement heading his way.

As a dealer threads like these baffle me.

Kevin Deal with Upscale Audio reached out to me today and made a gesture quite befitting of a dealer who is genuine and at the very least apologetic for what has transpired. He looked back in his notes and saw our first conversation about my initial hum issue. He then suggested trouble-shooting steps to determine if it was a hardware issue. He never got the message about me having to send the unit back. We had a very nice conversation and he is going to have Manley send me a new SE version Chinook plus a pair of Philips PCC88 tubes to cover my initial shipping costs. My issue was never with Upscale Audio but am happy the dealer had stepped fwd to make things good. Also, I know the inside data on the Esteban issue spoken about here. I will do business with Upscale again.
