Default MS750 "phoning home" registration help

Hi,

I have been working on some issues with my MS750 since moving and setting top my new wifi/ethernet network - to make a long story short, my MS750 is now on start-up, power-on (off-standby), and randomly trying to connect to the Mc servers to register and do whatever it needs to do - but obviously not working since my understanding is that the servers/connection (esp grace note link) are no longer active

this is getting a little annoying since I need to manually override and set-up all the time now....

help?

thanks

-michael

thanks for reminding me..... the music still sounds good and having a hard time finding anything reasonable to replace it with

these little issues though are becoming more of a headache

but, I am open for ideas.....but not to keen on investing in another Mc music server that they will abandon in a few years.....

Default MS750 "phoning home" registration help

Mfirst, just picked up a Bluesound Node 2i running directly to my C47 and on the fly switching to PS Audio DL3. Router is connected to Bluesound via Ethernet and is working out great.

I think lschwartz is our resident MS 750 guru but I haven’t heard from him in awhile.

You may need to run the MS Complete software install (Version 2.0.7.1 disc) again. but the key thing is that you need to bypass that registration. This is done by pressing MS1 on the original remote and then 5 5 5 5. I am not sure you can do this without running the new install, but before doing the new install first try entering that code after the first registration request you are seeing. (Been a while since I did this so not 100% sure if you can do the bypass without running the new install.)

It worked for me on two units, both the 300 and 750. Also best to go into settings and dis-enable the updates setting. If you have not so, getting a spare drive and loading the software onto it is a good backup and of course if you have not got a rebuilt power supply that is a real must. Runner up is fan set to run at all times, possibly using a SilenX. They move more air and you cannot hear them unless you are right on top of the unit.

+1 a power supply failure is catastrophic and it is a matter of when, not if.
