Default 802D1 to 802D3? Worth it?

Thoughts? Is this worth doing? What will I gain?

System is Ayre AX-5 Twenty and QX-5 Twenty.

You'll gain clarity and bass.
But you'll need juice!

Are you worried that the D4s could be just around the corner?

When the D3 came out I was upset over the departure from the Nautilus 800 series looks. I thought the D2s refinements over the D1 made them one of the most beautiful speakers in the world.

I have owned several models in every 800 series since the Nautilus line. Now after owning D3s for the last 2+ years I don’t think I could go back. I enjoy the 805D3 and 800D3. I am sure the 802s are just as wonderful. Going 2nd hand makes the jump much easier to swallow if you desire. IMO it would be worth it.

While i enjoyed the 802D2, the D3 IMHO is quite a bit better. You will not be disappointed, but you will need good electronics to get the most out of them...
