Man, I'm excited for and with you! Please make sure to give a report. What are you running in the system overall? (LP12 status, cart, tonearm, amp, phono pre, speakers, etc.) it really does'nt matter because you should hear a very nice improvement no matter what.

I have the Cirkus upgrade w/an Ittok arm. The cart is a Dynavector 20xl2. The phono is locally made Shaker Audio Logic(it uses a Cinimag 1254 Sut). Compared it to the Parasound JC3+ and the Plinius phono and it outperformed both units. Preamp is the CJ ET3se. Amp a Bryston 2.5 SST2. Speakers Aerial 6's (non-T's). Speaker cable and interconnects Accusound silver series.

I just traded in my Rega RP40 with Groovetracer reference subplatter (I kept the Dynavector 20X2l moving coil cart) for the following re-built LP12: Afromosia plinth (circa 1983/84), Ittok LVII, completely re-built Valhalla power supply, new motor, new Cirkus upgrade, new Majik sub-chasis, and Trampoline 1. I got it home on Monday, and all I can say is "Wow"! It really puts a smile on my face. And it looks gorgeous. I'm fortunate to have a reliable Linn dealer with a skilled turntable expert who can refurbish and assemble Linn turntables. I was going to get the Kore but changed my mind when I learned that it would have required drilling a hole in the arm board to accommodate the Ittok. The Majik sub-chasis works well and I can always upgrade later if need be.

This has been a journey since I last posted about my ordering a Lingo 3. A few days after I posted the laundry room next to my apartment leaked water into my living room. I had to remove all my audio gear (which consists of about 12 pieces of audio gear plus 5 speakers and a sub). Took about 5 days to get everything back together w/a new carpet & rewiring the system. Then my computer went down so I was off line till today. But the good news the Lingo 3 is in. This is a great upgrade. The pacing and the sound staging is much more defined. You can basically pick out where everyone is on stage. Expensive for me but definitely worth the investment. Don't have any 45 rpm LP's as of yet. Any records that you can suggest?? Really enjoying the music just hope the ceiling doesn't fall on my head.

Forte 4A, let us know what kind of music you like. Here are a couple suggestions for some highly regarded well recorded audiophile music on 45 RPM:
Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong on Verve Records. Stunning, very holographic! Sounds like it was recorded yesterday. The Hot Club of San Francisco, 5 RR Yerbabuena image-3324746809.jpg image-862413044.jpg |

Hi longgone, whutsbeenhappenin? I got some serious listening in this past weekend (Saturday and Sunday late nights both) and am looking forward to getting to it again this coming weekend too. I've stopped listening weekdays because I get so into it (really enjoying the music - 90% vinyl) and the next thing I know its 2:30AM and Im trashed for work later. Love my Linn! How are you doing with yours? Good to hear from you. Olskool (Larry) |
