Passive Bi-Amping Mini-Ts
I have been reading and reading and reading about bi-amping
Passive Bi-Amping Active Bi-Amping Vertical Horizontal ad nauseam I am using an Anthem PVA-7 (140W) per channel and my Pioneer Elite has an option to configure the Fronts and the heights as bi-amp audio paths. I can clearly hear improved music quality by doing this, but from some of my reading, some claim that it's "bad" or "damaging" to the speaker...I can not see how that is possible, unless you are running 2 different amps with different gain, which would in my opinion have horrible listening characteristics.. So is it damaging or bad to bi-amp my Bryston Mini-T's with an equal gain/amp? And in what sense would it be damaging or bad?? to the drivers (woofer, midrange, tweeter) or to the crossover network or both??

Active MULTI-AMPING rules.

With 'passive' bi-amping it is not possible to put the crossover at the start of the signal path when using your speakers built-in components. One drawback to passive bi-amping is that each amp channel sees the full frequency range of the signal and works a bit harder than with an active bi-amping system with the crossover located in front of the amps. Not a big deal in the great majority of cases.
Joe - give us some feedback on your bi-amping results once you've had some time to listen to the system.
