Default Scientists Identify Protein That Could Let Birds See Magnetic Fields

Wonder what it "looks" like to be able to visualize the magnetosphere of the Earth?

Very interesing, thanks for sharing, Serge.

I had to laugh at this though: "which relies on an innate attribute of electrons called “spin,” one of the most quantum mechanical properties there is.

Well, we can visualize a portion of the EM spectrum, so its not at all inconceivable that an organism could not evolve a way to visualize the magnetosphere of the Earth.

Which, BTW, is a hypotrochoid....

Electrons do not orbit.
Electrons do not spin.
We know not where they're going.
We know not where they've been.

A bit of quantum spin poetry

Speaking of visible EM... If one uses a different technology to see in a different spectrum other than visible light, one would realize we have many visitors coming and going to/from our planet. They are not visible in the spectrum we can see with our naked eyes. That's all I can say...
