Default Strads - the quest continues

So this is the deal I have right now. Mint except for bottom on 1. 1y old and from US AD. Everything included.

Check out the screw holes by the base... He says it screws tightly. Thoughts?

Do it!
The screw hole looks fine - not mint but ok. The screws that are used to attach the heavy metal base plate are basically black deck screws. If the front screw holes were drastically reamed out then it might've posed a potential issue but the pictured hole is on the rear, where the weight of the speaker is pushing down on the base plate. Also, IIRC, there are about 5 screws per base so even if one was slightly loose, the others will hold tight. Lastly, there is a thin piece of black chamois adhered to the base where it contacts the wood bottom of the speaker which provides scratch protection but also minimises movement.
All to say that you'll be fine. You've wanted these for awhile Joey. My 2cents is to get em before somebody else does!
Chris

You will not see those holes once the base plate is on. It does depend on the price .

Is there a screw sleeve in there? Or is it just screw into wood?
