The old lines are discontinued.
I prefer the looks of the new DACs.

By the way, you can do me a Theater Master for my bedroom please.

I had the MSB Ref Dac in my system for a few days and it is special. Lowest noise floor I've heard in my system going direct to the amps. I really appreciate the modular design with fast moving digital. The Select II

A $90k DAC that will be discontinued a few years down the road makes perfect financial sense. To MSB at least.

Hi Serge,

Why would the Select II DAC be discontinued a few years down the road when it is entirely modular in its design? Best digital source I’ve ever listened to by a longshot.

Ken, for the same reason you see the "discontinued" and "new" dacs on their page. Isn't it obvious? If you were selling audio gear, would you want to sell modules to upgrade the DACs from a few years ago or a brand new DAC from $10k to $90k every few years?

How long would you stay in business selling modules to keep your products fresh? Why are there so many new products coming to the market every year if the one from last year was the "reference grade" item?

It is not just audio but everything around us that has to be "obsolete" to keep the profits flowing.

What makes financial sense can only be determined by the one spending. What else does your crystal ball tell you?

What would you like to know? Don't need a crystal ball for what I said earlier, simple historic events with all products.
