Well I'm starting to feel like the glass half full guy and tonight it is because I just drank the other half ... I'm celebrating how good the Zitron Cobra pc is sounding.

Day twenty one since firing up my first Zitron and as sure as day comes out of night the performance of the Zitron is really coming out into the light. That by my calculatoring is a touch past 500 hrs... I was more than happy to scotch the rumour about the 500 hr burn in time but its playing out in front of me right now.

I'm listening to a redbook CD of Bobby McFerrin and Chick Corea live and I'd swear it was hi-res. This one cable is the best move I've made all year.

It's so good I just celebrated by putting in an order for one of these to up the ante a bit more.

First Cyclops I've ever seen with two eyes but I figure the extra eye will come in handy for the Shindo

Graham, this will get scarily good. Is this your first gen 3 Hydra reference series? I don't see the powerconditioner for the low voltage components in your sig.

Do report on how your monoblocks fare with the cyclops. If you need to keep costs from wall down you select the Hydra HC VTX (9 gauge) for the 20A cyclops inlet. Otherwise Python (9) or Anaconda (7 gauge) can be even more fun I guess.

I'm working on securing an Anaconda CX (7 gauge) to compare with my Furutech Flux (8 gauge) on my Triton and Talos. Will be interesting.

Crion, shall be most interested in your comparison & findings as I am looking to adding Cyclops & Anaconda to my mix of Furutech Flux & Talos' too!

Crion - Current Hydra is gen 2... this newby will be a big step up/leap as I hear which is hard to fathom since even the intro of one Zitron module in the Cobra already has me sitting up late at night playing music marathons.

I will have a mix of Anaconda and Cobra signal cables to try about the same time as the Cyclops lands and then will be able to see how a complete Zitron loom with a Cyclops goes... the current Hydra will then be looking after the digital side on its own.

Tim - When I play that Bobby Vee track video backwards I can hear the words want Zitron Anaaacoonda - but I can't always do what the voices tell me can I?

Steve - a little Shunyata cable demo is living dangerous

Graham

I think you will find the Gen 3 reference Hydras a giant leap forward so focusing first on getting all your Hydras upgraded to Gen 3 will gain higher SQ on all connected components. The noise floor goes into freefall, it's quite amazing on the Triton and very good on the Talos. The Cyclops is equal to the Triton in this regard I'm told.

I'm getting real close to pulling the trigger on a Zitron Cobra PC. From my reading, research, and reflection on the new Zitron technology (which is backed up by the DTCD measurement capability), I think this new design will represent a breakthrough level of performance for power cable design.

800 hours in and enjoying the zitron pc more and thinking about it less... just a sensational value genuine whole of system upgrade in a cable ... completely unreservedly recommended.

Stephen - So far I'm very happy with my Z Cobra digital IC.
