Gas cooks better than electric in my opinion. The food just seems to taste better to me. I had my entire house remodeled in 2007 and of course one the things that my wife wanted was a great kitchen area. The kitchen remodel without appliances was $40k, she's very happy with the remodel job so it was well worth it.

I am definitely a foodie. I remodeled my current home's kitchen and the kitchen in the home that I will be building is getting nearly the same level of attention as the home theater. My preference for cook tops/ranges is Wolf. They offer the greatest combination of burners, griddles, grills, and french cook tops. If I had unlimited kitchen space I would go with a 60” cooktop configured with 4 burners, a french cooktop, and a grill. I would also go with 3 ovens, two electric and one gas. I like at least one gas oven because it is a moist heat, which I like better for roasting meats. I think that Sub Zero has the best refrigerator on the market now. Good luck on your kitchen.
