Wool rugs between the speakers here. Always. Karastan is a good value and sound great.
Oh, and if you have a coffee table between you and your speakers - ditch it like a bad date at the prom.

I have wanted to hang a rug/carpet on the rear wall (behind the listening position) of my listening room for a long long time but just have not gotten around to it. I have even nailed blankets to the wall to test it out which improved the sound, but the WAF on that was obviously terrible.

I intend to use a deep pile carpet hung with a 1-2" airspace between the carpet and the wall when it is hung.

Do you think it sounded better due to the dirt being rubbed into it or the repeated vacuuming to remove said dirt?
