This depends on the dealer.
In my country I order the unit, get it delivered and pay the bill.

If you come from Switzerland, you have to pick your orders up at the German shop and pay right away. If they trust you, you needn't pay the German VAT, but are expected to send back the stamped custom duty form as soon as possible. This means you have to pay the Swiss VAT at the border before you can get the stamp from the German custom duty office on your form.

Power supply voltage in Japan is only 100V-120V.

Preferable E-650 (Class A + fully balanced pre like C-3850) or separates up to C-3850 + 2x A-250 according to your budget.
DP-750 "requires at least" E-650.

Martin
I decided to go for the E-650. It should have no problem driving the Piega Coax 711 loudspeakers. And it produces enough heat to keep me and my wife cosy warm all winter :-)

If you come from Switzerland, buy from an official Swiss shop.

Sure, if prices are fair. Though it's the same distributor in both countries (PIA) and official list prices are about the same, for the DP-750/E-650 combination. Neither PIA Switzerland nor the dealers I know seem to care that a lot of Swiss audiophiles buy their Accuphase equipment in Germany.

PIA is distributor only for Germany.

Official Swiss Distributor is: http://cebrands.ch/de/home-new/
(See Accuphase homepage).

A Swiss Accuphase price list can be found here: http://audiophil-dreams.com/PDF%20Do...0Accuphase.pdf

BTW if you send a unit back to Germany for service two years or more after purchase, you will have to pay the German VAT, because this represents a reimport.

Martin

P.S. You can buy, wherever you want. You just have to bear the consequences if something goes wrong (support, warranty, service).

The borders in the EU are still open and why, as a German or a Swiss, not buy in the Netherlands or France (where it seems cheaper) and drive the machine back there if any problem (that will not arrive anyway ;-)

Importing the machines from Japan for half price and make some technical arrangements is somewhat more complex.

You're right about the Swiss distributor. The list prices are about the same in both countries. Showing my dealer the quotes from some German PIA dealers he didn't look very happy but in the end gave me a substantial discount, so I ordered my DP-750 and E-650 through him today.

Congrats Herbie. You made a good decision on the E-650.
