My MC207 showed up last night. (cracked glass) I’m powering 800D3, HTM1 D3 & 802s with it. The original plan is 207 for atmos, 303 for center and surrounds and 1.25KW for 800 D3s.

Current plan now is to return the 207 as I have two MC303s on order and to use those for the time being and order a pair of monos in the spring. I originally wanted MC2301s but I am being recommended to get the 1.25s. I am still trying to decide..

Sounds like a good plan - I’m using the 1.2KW’s to drive my 800D3’s and really happy with them. The 800’s like plenty of current to really get the best out of them...

Still trying to figure out which mono to get for the HTM1D3. I’d love to have 3 matching mono blocks for the LCR, but being rated at 500 watts a 1.25 seems overkill lol.

I love the big chassis Mac looks so a single 611 might be the odd man out with a pair of 1.25s and a pair of 303s.

I use Pass Xa100.5 & 100.8... before Classe ...

Sound good with Pass.

the Mc601 / 611 are sure a valid alternative.

I currently drive my 802D3 with MC611s, and HTM1 D3 and the 2 SCMs surround with the Bryston 9BST (rated 150W per channel). My plan is to replace the Bryston with MC303 for the Center and surround. My 5.1 set up is for movies so I think that is ok to have "mismatched" amplifiers to drive the L/C/R. For 2 channel music, IMHO the MC611s are perfect to drive the 802D3.

Anybody running their 802D3 speakers with Mcintosh MC-501 amps? If so, how is it working?

I have not heard the 501 with the 802D3 but lots of experience with 601 and also heard the 611. I think it is a great pair... I would assume the 501 would be close.
