Yes, they seem destined for greatness. I am waiting, though, for AA member reviews. No one planning on buying these soon?
thanks, ron |

They sounded very good driven by the Wadia Intuition at RMAF. One of the best small speaker rooms at the show. I can't say how they would compare to previous SF offerings.

Does anyone know if the Olympica I has to be stand mounted or can they be placed in a bookshelf sans mount?

Congrats on the Olympica III's. You'll love them. But having its bigger brother there for 2 months is risky .

Sultankat/bigblue,
Thanks for the warning and I totally agree! Definitely something I've thought about, but how can I resist having a pair of Amati's in my home for a couple of months. I've been lusting after these speakers for over a year now, and thought the Olympica's would be a fine alternative until I can get enough nerve to spring for the cost of the Amati's. However, I have two concerns with purchasing the Amati's. 1) I think they will be too big for my small listening room (12W X 15L X 9H) AND 2) I would be tempted to eventually upgrade my Ayre gear to the new upcoming KX-R and MX-R to ensure they have enough power to fully open up. At the end of the day, I just need to let my ears decide if the Amati's justify the extra expense and this will be a good chance to listen to both of these speakers side by side in my own room. Sorry, I apologize if I'm getting off original topic of the Olympica I. I initially thought I was on the Olympica III thread. |
