Default Wawa_chan's System

It's been a long two years planning and building my new home. It's technically a major renovation of an old cape house to something ultra modern (my wife says it's almost too commercial looking). Anyways in the plans has always been an audio room and we are finally moving in. I've attached a photo of my setup thus far and it's finally making music again as everything has been boxed up for over 13 months. Still need to play around with speaker placement and might need some room treatments.

It's a finished concrete floor and concrete walls with drywall and insulation. Ceiling is 8ft finished but again concrete, so I'm not sure if that will play into room acoustics or not. Anyone have any experience with this?

More pictures and updates to come later. Thanks!

Very nice! How's it sounding so far? How's the synergy with Accuphase and the Sasha's? Do you mind if I ask the dimensions of your room?

Looks awesome! I have to believe that with all those concrete surfaces you will need some acoustic treatments. The good news is that some of them can be made to look like decorations.

The room needs some serious acoustics job IMO.

Are you US based ?

Looks great!

I suspect you'll need room treatments. Concrete, especially coated concrete, can create quite a bit of acoustic shimmer or reflection.

Congrats on moving in!!!

Very nice system!
It will certainly play really well in good conditions. But it must have proper acoustic to perform on it's top.
The sound reflections to concrete walls and so on will be substantial. It will gain some db by the first reflection and it will be mixed and delayed with the original sound. It will make it difficult for your brain to sort out what the original signal sounds like.
This good system deserves some room treatment. I suggest both diffusion -to have the right ambience and 3d- and absorption -to reduce echo- in your room. Probably you will have acoustic problems in the bas region as well. Well tuned bas absorption/traps is also often something that helps and a better bas reproduction. This also helps the higher frequencies to sound mor focused and more natural .

I hope this will help you to get the very best sound out of your nice system.

Nice arrangement of equipment you have their. Just remember the room is half your system. With bare walls you will have reflection & combing issues.
