I really like the Krell sound but I am not willing to pay the premium they ask. I think their 402 lists for $16k and the 600 mono's for about $32k. At those levels I would also have to seriously consider MBL, Boulder, Gryphon and Burmester. Actually, I am very happy where I am at right now.

Jim,

I would prefer your current set up to the top of line Krells. for that kind of money, MBL would be at the top

Whoops. Just checked the latest Meridian prices with 30k processors 16k cdp and my speakers which cost 70k now. That is firmly into krell territory. May be that is why I have no desire to change as of now

He is getting in some maxx3's and sashas soon so I can make my own judgement. I would think the maxx3's will impress me but they are too large for my room and I am guessing that between what I have and the sashas it is going to be a personal liking over a clear winner.

Choosing between the 800Ds and Sasha? Sasha is a more neutral, effortless sounding speaker when paired with amps that drive them well and the bass is much more well behaved. Use your own ears to decide though.

Make sure you check out the new Diamond Series B&W 800D's. You may like what they have done to the crossovers. They seem to be a bit different from the ones you currently have.

I haven't heard the combination.. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on the auditions. I love my black ball's though.

The dealers around me seem to be getting the new 805Di and the 802Di for the showroom and not the 800Di. I would have to like them allot to upgrade due to they would not be a perfect match for my HTM1D. I can not get rid of that center because I think it is the best I have heard(not saying there is not better out there but I haven't come across one yet) and I also have a 600 driving that for perfect synergy across the front.

I have also heard what the room correction does for the 707 and I like that it does not rob the system of its incredible dynamics and it really makes the surrounds speakers disappear even more than I thought possible.

If you are planning on keeping the Krell's then I'd just leave the 800d in the system. But that's just my taste and preference.

You would have the same issue with your center's if you switched to the Sasha's or Maxx 3 for your front speakers.

Do you like what you have heard from the new 802d's?
