Is the DB25 connection the preferred method for connecting a MX150 to a MC207?

I don't believe the MX150 has the DB-25 multi-channel output connector that the previous MX series preamps do.

Rob, more specifically, I would recommend using balanced cables to connect the MX150 to the MC207.

I plan on it, just curious why the big hitters were using the DB25 connection.

Well, the only reason I am using the DB-25 with my downstairs system MX-120 is because the MC207 is on a different shelf from my MX120, and the cable has to run behind the wall and around to the next cabinet over. Running one cable was way easier. Additionally, the MX120 only has balanced outputs for the three front channels, so I chose to go all unbalanced, which was easier and cheaper with the DB-25 than using individual cables.

Exclamation Need opinions on best way to connect my BDP-09 to Mx-120

A slick way to do this is to assign the chosen digital input on the MX120 to one particular input (say VCR) and then use another input (say AUX) with its designated surround mode as "External" (which is the multi-channel physical input). You can connect an HDMI putput from the Blu-ray player to one of the HDMI inputs on the MX120 and then assign it as the designated video input for both of the two inputs (in this example, VCR and AUX). The MX120 also lets you rename those inputs as you may choose (for example, BRAY or something similar).

The MX120 owners manual (available for download at mcintoshlabs.com) explains how to do this sort of set-up on Page 25 of the manual. Also, please feel free to ask me any questions you may come up with about how to configure any other settings.
HI guys, I'm new to this forum and would appreciate your help with connecting up my Mx-120.Does anyone know an easy way (without going into the setup menu every time) to set up 5.1 HT and so I can then listen to music via CD thru the front speakers with the sub engaged? I currently have the BDP-09 connected via the external inputs so I can decode the lossless codecs internally (bluray). I also have a coaxial input connected for playing DVDs.
My goal is to be able to play a music CD thru the front right and lefts and have the sub engaged also. The only way I have found is to set the fronts to large and engage Mc bass. This puts to much bass in my system for 5.1 HT.

So: should I use the coaxial input and set my fronts to large with Mcbass engaged?
Should I set the fronts to small and engage 80hz crossover?
How about both fronts large and no Mc bass?
Go analog from the Bray and listen via stereo? Would I have to split the front interconnects to do this? and is this reccommended?

You get the idea.

Also, Does anyone know the reason the system tunes differently when setting the speaker levels? I can get the 5.1 HT speakers to balance out three different ways. One via the processors test tones, one via the BDP-09's test tones and lastly via the BDP-09 playing a cd designed to tune your system. Each one of these methods equalizes out differently, meaning, the speaker levels are set different in each case to get a balanced system.I am not sure which way is the best or more accurate. I understand that some would say use whatever sounds best, however I am trying to understand the reason behind the different results.Shouldn't I level the channels once and then forget about it?

Oh, I'm running B&W 804s' for fronts and center, difinitive tech for surround r/l with a JL audio 12" sub. Seperate Mac amps for all channels.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
