Wilson Audio Sasha w/p
"Wilson Audio's newest speaker is the Sasha W/P ($26,950 per pair), which builds on the two-cabinet platform of the venerable WATT/Puppy and ultimately replaces that speaker in the company's product lineup. The Sasha W/P's drivers and crossover are inspired by those of the MAXX 3, and the new speaker is an integrated system, with crossovers housed in the bass module, whereas the WATT monitor had always been a fully functional speaker with its own internal crossover. Another significant difference is the price between the Sasha W/P and the speaker it replaces, the WATT/Puppy 8, which costs $29,900 per pair. According to Wilson Audio, the lower price of the new speaker is due to "increased efficiencies resulting from our factory expansion."

I am looking forward to my dealer getting a pair in the room with the 1k's and B&W's and hoping it is closer to the sound of the Maxx's than it is to the WP's. |

2008 was a bit of a rough year for Wilson and others but Dave Wilson has mentioned the sales were around $9.5 million. His overhead is pretty high, all the employees are getting full benefits/health coverage and a decent salary from what I heard.

I think Wilson is one of the class guys in the audio business. You pay for his products but you get value in return. Lets hope these US companies can weather the storm.

It's a shame we didnt get a better view of the speaker. I have always like Wilson speakers, even with their exorbitant pricetag... Very exclusive brand. At least I know it is a good form of "wealth redistribution," since a lot of it goes back to the American workers that put so much effort into creating a real masterpiece in craftsmanship (even though some people have commented to me whenever they see the speakers that they look cheap; I almost slap them).

When I tell them exactly that, amigo, they shut up. (or the countless layers of lacquer on the cabinets too... so precisely done)
They say it looks cheap because it looks like those old wood building shapes you used to have as a kid. Triangle over rectangle to make a tall house, Billy...
