Douglas, for the price Onkyo/Integra products are really nicely built indeed.

Serge, yes Terry is (blown away); I saw him over at AVS.

And the characteristics are the same at 99%. The very few differences are in more EQ bands from the manual Graphic EQ (15 versus 7 I believe; for each channel including the two subwoofers), some smaller parameters for the speaker distances (0.2 feet versus 0.5 feet), and perhaps one or two more minor details like those (unimportant). ...Integra versus Onkyo, reciprocally & respectively.
The inside parts are the same. The audio and video quality are the same. The price is roughly $1,000 cheaper for the Onkyo (street price). And the Onkyo is definitively the better looker, if people care.

* It wasn't available in America before, but now it's comin'.

Oh, and the street price is well below (for me anyway) its Integra's counterpart. But I did say that already.

___________________________

Here's the full retrospect scoop (true differences).

Integra DHC-80.3 versus Onkyo PR-SC-5509, respectively:

1. External Design: Original look versus classier look.

2. Manual Graphic EQ: 15 bands versus 7 bands.

3. Speaker Distances (increments adjust.): 0.2 feet versus 0.5 feet.
4. Speaker Crossovers (increments adjust.): 14 total versus 10 total.
[40/45/50/55/60/70/80/90/100/110/120/130/150/200 versus 40/50/60/70/80/90/100/120/150/200]

5. Warranty: 3 years versus 2 years.

*** MSRP: Nah, lets go with street prices:: $2,600 versus $1,600.

____________

And that is it Bart; other than that they are exactly identical on the inside, and on everything else parts & features wise.
I believe.

Cheers,
Bob
Thank you Bob!
Interesting piece of gear!

Chessman, hey I'm not sure about those screen shots either.

But my "Nipples" didn't get hard I'm pretty sure.

I have started watching Movies but only watched parts of "Iron Man" so far.
Reason, waiting for my wife (Cathy) to get caught up on her work.
She works for Cigna Ins. here at home in a converted bedroom to an office.
I want her to be sitting there beside me so she can See & Hear 1st hand how Awesome this new HT is.

As far as my take on the Video & Audio it is just Fantastic.
There is no comparison between the New & Old.
I watched a Demo Blu-Ray with all different types of Video and it was just "Out-Standing".
When playing Iron Man at 80 THX level it is so Powerful that you actually feel as though you are right there in person.
The cars racing on the street where the guy has the Whips and cutting them in pieces is just Engulfing.
The surround sound now is right on target for sure.
When the cars go past and circle on the street that is exactly what you hear and feel.
Oh and the 4-Mirage BPS-400 Subs are working.
That guy that has the electric whips hitting them on the ground you feel that take place with the subs.
Especially with two up front and now two stacked right in the middle of the love seat against the rear wall.
I did not jack-up the level on the subs I left all levels exactly the same as the Audyssey XT32 program set them.

See above for comments on my take on the Video & Audio.

I totally agree that the Audyssey XT32 program is the Real Deal !!!

The Audio on my system now is Awesome.

Bob, I have read about the Onkyo and it looks like to me it will get the job done for sure.
Saw all your Pics. and I really like the way that unit looks.
You do good Pics.

I went with the Integra Pre-Amp Processor & Blu-Ray player because I had the Integra Research units before for over 9 years and they were trouble free.
So I stuck with Integra for the up-grades but as you noted with the Onkyo there are so many other outstanding units on the market to choose from.

PHC1, ... Blown-Away would be one way to state what I think and have experienced seeing and hearing this new system.
It is just so Badddddddddddd
I Luv this stuff.
Going to be interesting this weekend to get the wife up there and fire up the Blu-Ray player.
She is going to Trip-Our Pal.
This thing is so "Intense" .......

So we are on some of the other A/V Internet Sites together.
I have been a member over there for many years now.
Started over there when I had the other Runco VX5000ci.

I Post over there a lot as they are more into the gear I actually have.
And they are also much more into the HT, (Home Theater) thing.
This site is much more into the, (Audio) listening thing.
(I'm not really so much up on that so hard for me to Post comments with everyone)

Terry, that guy with the whip, in 'Iron Man 2', it's Mickey Rourke.

Great flick to demo your system indeed. ...On Blu-ray of course.
