JRiver 20 bug?
I haven’t been using JRiver for quite some time and I’ve added lots of new files to the NAS, so I decided to delete the entire library and start over. I rescaned and imported 17,700-ish files (btw, WiFi was taking forever so I plugged in an Ethernet cable and it screamed at Autobahn speeds!).
This morning I ripped and added a new CD and noticed the artist’s other CDs were missing in JRiver. Strange since they were there last night. So I rescanned the NAS and JRiver picked up an additional 19,600 files for a total of 37,334 files. I forgot about this bug or maybe just peculiar behavior with JRiver. Has anyone else noticed this? I’m running the latest JRiver 20 (20.0.132). |

Is it a bug? Can you repeat it?
FWIW, I have started new libraries several times and not had such a problem with JRiver. I am running the latest JRiver 23 (23.0.91) but never had problems with the earlier versions. |

Mike.......I have not experience the issue you described. I have been using JRiver Media Center 21 for several years. I've been having issues for the past month or so with JRiver crashing and causing a total blue screen reboot of my computer when I attempted to use Media Center with the USB output to my Wyred 4 Sound DAC2. I deleted and reinstalled my W4S DAC2 driver to no avail, so last night I deleted JRiver Media Center 21. Obviously there was a missing or corrupted file relating to the USB output because JRiver would play perfectly fine through my desktop computer speakers, but would crash the program and the Windows 10 operating system every time I plugged in the USB cable to my DAC and tried to play music files.
I went ahead and upgraded to JRiver Media Center 23 last night, version 23.0.91. It scanned my music files and once complete I connected the USB cable from my PC to the W4S DAC2, selected the DAC in JRivers tools/options settings, opened Alison Krauss - Windy City and double clicked the first track. Eureka! It plays perfectly through my DAC to my Sennheiser HDVA 600 headphone amplifier and HD800 headphones. I am happy to be back in business and consider the $26.98 upgrade fee money well spent. After reading your post I think I will scan my music files again to see if JRiver Media Center picks up any additional files. We like to think of our computers and software as being perfect. Unfortunately that is not always the case.

JRiver 20 bug?
Once again, Dan, you’ve made me part ways with my cash. Last time was for the Gumby update. Now, JRiver 23 from JRiver 20.
Hopefully some of the less desirable “features” of the previous releases of JRiver Media Center have been retired. IMG_8311.jpg Last edited by jdandy; 12-29-2017 at 02:10 AM. Reason: enlarge photo |

I never left 19.xxx myself since it runs on a win7 PRO system. I have mine stripped to the bear essentials thatI like and wish it to be.
I low all the options etc and features that have been added over the years, I just wish there was an advanced custom install to pick the components one wants. I am happy with a music player that is like a 1968 manual shift points and condenser muscle car with hand crank rollup windows and non power steering. Sometime more is less right. on another note I agree with Dan's approach and that was similar to what I had to do a few years ago with crashing in 18.x when I went to 19 I had to clean wipe and reload the app to not pick up the legacy issues that crippled it at times. |

I started having dropout and data integrity problems with JRiver 20 earlier this month.
I upgraded both, JRiver to version 23 & the McIntosh drivers to version 2.0 (free at McIntosh's website) and all is good.
