Ivan (and other owners) - stunning piece of gear. Also looking forward to your review. Am saving for an E-X60 as my 'final' piece of gear (something to carry me into my dotage
 ). It is all about prioritizing where one wishes to put their $$.No power button on the remote may be a result of Accuphase telling us something about not turning off solid-state gear. Only solid-state gear I turn off is the CDP, due to the limited life-time of the laser. If I knew that the laser & motors were only energized during play, would leave it energized, as well.

If you plan to leave E-470 on all the time, you may want to turn off the display. I have heard horror stories from McIntosh users with lamp replacement process.
It appears Accupase did not want to use relays for reliability reasons, hence not provide remote power off. But option to turn off display would have been nice. Another thing to note, when you plug in the head phones, the speakers do not turn off. You have to press the subpanel button and press Speaker A,B button. One thing for sure, you do not want to place this unit on the bottom shelf

Hi cisco,
Great amp, but I think what you win with the timer switching your amp on, you loose in soundquality with a power distributer like that. Have you tried the E-470 directly to a wall socket ? I am sure there will be an improvement there. Olaf

imprezap2.....I finally got my new rack so I don't use the power strip any more....but.....the 470 is plugged into my Mc power controller. I don't hear any difference between plugging straight into the wall or into the controller.
