Default Steve Blinn vs. buy from 80/20 direct?
Has anyone compared a Steve Blinn rack vs. buying all the parts from 80/20? I'm interested in one of Steve's racks, and curious if I could buy all the parts direct and save. I have a large woodworking, Amish community near me where I could get the shelves made as well.
Oh, and 80/20 headquarters is literally 30 minutes from my home.
Any input before i pull the trigger with Steve???

I have had multiple experiences with Steve, each one was very positive. When you buy a custom rack from Steve, he takes care of everything from start to finish. The woodwork is impeccable too.

He'll give you a great price, and super service.

I'm sure MUCH easier buying from Steve then hunting everything down. I guess just curious on the framing. I agree, the pictures that I've seen of his woodwork/shelves are beautiful! I'm considering the "danish" finish on my shelves.

Jon.......I think if you try to piece this together and subcontract the woodwork, in the end you will wish you had gone with Steve. You may save a little cash, but what's that worth if you have issues?

I went with a Steve Blinn rack and have no regrets. I can't speak for you but my time is to valuable for a DIY project. Even if it cut the cost in half I still would come out loosing.
