Best Sirs,

I saw that picture a couple of days ago, at first everyone thought it was a photshopped pic due to the obvious extreme nature of it but it was verified as legitimate. It's really hard to comprehend that much water falling out of the sky along with storm surge.

I got some good news yesterday. I e-mailed my niece in Chicago (my sister's daughter) to ask if she'd heard from anybody. Turns out she'd spoken to my brother-in-law Saturday, and everyone's okay. They returned to the house and found it hadn't taken any water; ditto my nephew's place. It seemed a bit ironic that as I was waiting for news from Texas, yesterday's Sunday school lesson was on God's covenant with Noah following the flood while Harvey's remnants were dumping rain on Brooklyn.

Thank you to everyone that has had Houston in their thoughts and prayers! I live near Buffalo Bayou and barely stayed dry but so many other have lost everything. It's devastating to see the damage. I'm sure you have all seen it on the news. Through this devastation, I have seen what the human heart is capable of. I have seen first responders working to help others knowing their own home is flooded, boat owners from 100's of miles away showing up to help rescue people in need, and a relentless human spirit that will not be broken. If anything, Harvey washed away all the negativity. It's going to be a long road to recovery but we are all working together. HoustonStrong

Just thought I'd give a shout out to Wal-Mart -- this morning on a major news channel, they had a very nice Texas infomercial -- well done & mentioned they have raised $25M for those affected by Harvey.

On a sadder note, over 60 deaths -- many who were caught by swift moving waters.

FEMA has burned thru a $1,000,000,000.00 in a week (half of their yearly budget) on 20 natural disasters and Harvey & are currently burning thru $9M an hour -- with 30K FEMA reps on the ground in Texas.

(Not political here-- just facts) -- the House just passed the $8B Emergency Authorization for Harvey (and the fires out west) with the Senate is expected to pass it later this week. It's badly needed $$ for everyone affected by these disasters (and Irma) and FEMA itself.

Best Sirs,

"Just the Facts" Bob

P.S. While attending ECON 201 class w/the University of Maryland, European Division, I learned one thing that has stuck in this small cranium. Someone with $1B could spend $100K a day, everyday for 20 years & still have money left over. So, when I hear of a someone being a billionaire, that person has some serious cash.
