Quick update. Power cords seem to be doing very well. My house isn't burned down. I love the clean look behind the cabinet.

I'm now working on custom 3.5mm trigger cables.

Nice progress! I'll be updating the mess behind my rack later this year, and you've gathered some great info here. Thanks much!

They look nice. I have one question I was hoping someone could explain. If the wire going to your home and the wire in your walls from your fuse box is standard wire then why would the last few feet going from the outlet to your component be that critical ? I have a PPP AC regenerator feeding my components and amps. and the wire going from my fuse box to the dedicated outlet is less than 4 feet i.e. my fuse box is near the PPP.

David -- I think it's best you start a new thread instead of TC'ing this one. It could get rather exhaustive.

Best Sir,

Bob

Agree with 'Vintage Tube' - different discussion, exhaustively argued.

However, the link below is a pretty decent explanation* for your question (they talk specifically about house wiring vs power cords):
http://www.empiricalaudio.com/comput...-and-snake-oil

For a deep dive go to the Texas Instruments knowledge base, which corroborates what Empirical Audio is saying*.

*Note that Empirical is also touting their own products in this article; so a grain of salt, please. Not sure if these products even exist any longer.
