You are probably better off getting one of those old portable DVD/display units with a little composite video input. My friend uses one of that to play music from his network media players.
If you have a sling box, that might be worth using. You do need to buy the Sling app for the ipad though (like many money grabbing companies, their apps are not universal, so you have to buy an iPad specific one if you want a native ipad app, or run the iPhone one in scaled mode). Thanks. I guess I need a little monitor. I've seen some 7" ones that accept HDMI, so one of those ought to do the trick.

Any comparisons with the 8801 vs Krell Foundation?

I currently have an Integra DHC 80.3 that replaced a McIntosh MX134 that had no hdmi inputs or the new audio codecs. The Integra works fine with my McIntosh amps but while I'd like a McIntosh MX121 I just don't feel,it's wise to spend $6000 on a a/v pre-pro that will be surpassed with technology in a few short years like my MX134 was.
So I've been thinking I might want to trade in my Integra for a Marantz at my local shop. I know this isn't exactly an upgrade but the Marantz being owned by the same company as McIntosh might be closer in sound. Thoughts and opinions please! Thanks! |

Xt32 is great. If you get a pro dealer to do a pro calibration its even better. It did an awesome job integrating the subwoofer in. The 8801 has a dedicated subwoofer eq strategy to level out everything
