I'm a new member on this forum, but a long time owner of Dan's gear. I've had both units in my system for extended periods of time, and they are really close in sonic output. I went for the Oppo 105 for the true universal aspect the player provides. If one doesn't want or need the blu-ray option, the Sony will not disappoint.
