I also had requests for something by Queen and a Johnny Cash track.

I didn't spend too much time downstairs so it was limited.
Great selection, I love Rhiannon Giddens especially, her voice makes me melt- Queen would have had me running from the room screaming however.

When I play music to non-hifi people, their first reaction is to 'stand-up'?

I just couldn't figure out why, but it dawned on me when I went to JB HIFI (massive electronics stores in Australia & New Zealand).

All their demos of HiFi (more midfi) are done instore standing up!

Same at 'Harvey Norman' Stores (another big Australian- New Zealand Retailer). Same in Japan, most of the high-end stores didn't have listening rooms, they are usually narrow shops on multi-levels, nowhere to sit & listen- I guess that's the way modern HiFi retailing is at.

Don't know if the big electronic Stores in the USA do the same?

Most of the high end stores give you a comfortable chair. The idea is to make it as close to your home environment as possible. By sitting it brings your ear closer to the level of the tweeter also. I know that if I'm sitting in a comfortable chair, I'm more likely to spend an extended period of time on an audition.

And a line array works either way, unless you are taller than 6' 7" in the case of an XRT1K.
