Default Best tubes for a SLP-98P?

Anyone have one of these dialed in?

What tubes are best to make it sing?

Are the stock tubes any good?

Green goblin,
on my SLP-98L I'm running all front four with 1950-1951 Sylvania 6SN7s 2-hole tubes. All the same. Following your approach, I did come across a similar approach and recommendation. Mark at Cary also recommended intermixing like you are doing with different tubes up front vs. back for the 6SN7s if you want a hybrid tube sound. He told me the front tubes make something like 80% of the difference in sound. Back 6SN7 tubes don't make as much of a difference. Which type RCAs did you end up with of your two front tubes, Red base or Black base, and what year tubes? What was noticeably different with the RCAs up front in your opinion - how about with guitar string sounds, more plush, rolled off a tad on top or ?
