This makes perfect sense to me, Kal, but I checked both the manual and the website and, unfortunately, negative on the gain specification.

Yes, others have made reference to this...Pass Through of which you speak. As we've never owned anything like an AVR, we endeavor to learn more about them and, as you alluded to, using one in conjunction with our old MC-300 stereo power amp.
