BR,

Sven, beautiful system
At which frequency do the Rels take over?
My Giya G2 have good output at 25 hz in my room, so I am not sure that a subwoofer is really worth it just for the range below 25 hz. I am thinking that for most music listening it would just stay silent...?

I think I'll just add a sub (or 2) for movies.
I am curious about your multi channel setup: Do you use your surrounds for music as well? And what about the C1 for music?
Some of my friends uses his surrounds for music all the time, even for stereo recordings.
For movies I am thinking about replacing my Velodyne DD15 with a JL E112 - mostly because the JL's make them in white and it will match the white Vivids.

Sven, I notice that your RELs are positioned quite far behind the Giyas. Have you made any phase adjustments on the subs in order to make them blend in perfectly?

Bart...Rel subs are designed to connect to the speaker binding post of the amplifier. Their rationale is that the sub should receive exactly the same signal as the speakers.

Thank you for answering Douglas.
Do you mean you connect the speakers and the subs on the same speaker terminals?

Hi Nebob, welcome to this thread!
Yes, I have the C1 and the V1ws for multi-channel music and movies.
They blend in very well with the G2s.
I don't listen to stereo tracks in surround.
White is beautiful!

Indeed Bart.

"The standard high-level hookup procedure is: attach the red wire to the amplifier’s right positive speaker output terminal; attach the yellow wire to the amplifier’s left positive speaker output terminal; attach the black wire to which ever of the amplifier’s ground output terminals is convenient; plug the Speakon connector into the sub’s high level input.

By connecting to the amplifier’s speaker outputs the sonic signature of the entire amplification chain is folded into the signal for the sub, thereby keeping timing and timbre cues consistent. In other words, the signal sent to the REL is exactly the same signal sent to the speakers, allowing for seamless integration.

This connection can be made without affecting the performance of the amplifier because the sub’s amplifier input impedance is 100,000 ohms. This scheme also avoids adding any detrimental effects by not interposing any additional electronics into the amplification chain"

Douglas' description is correct for single end amps. Since Momentum is fully balanced and I'm using two REL's, the Red and Yellow wire is connected to the + terminal. No wire to the - terminal.

SOA, what do you think about REL T-Zero, can it fill 300 sq. feet room?
