Switched to a Musical Fidelity A1008 amplifier for my Guarneri Memento's today.

They love more power, that's obvious now. More detail, more and better bass, sweeter highs. As if ghe speaker has grown to twice its size.

Tompj - What you described hearing after switching to your Musical Fidelity amp is spot on the same differences I continue to hear with my Mementos after switching to my Gamut amp.

I can imagine. Beatiful amp Gamut. And what did you use before?

Tompj - Before the Gamut, I primarily used my Accuphase P-3000. I also briefly used my Bedini 25/25. The Bedini 25/25 was noticeably better than the Accuphase, but the Gamut remains the clear winner for me of the amps I have tried.

I recently procured a dealer demo pair of the Elipsa SE Red. These speakers are just beguiling. I am driving them with an Audio Research Ref 110.

My system consists of Sonus Faber Elipsa SE, Audio Research Ref 110, Audio Research Ref 5se, Audio Research Ref CD7. And for vinyl I have a Clearaudio Innovation Wood Compact with Universal Arm and Benz Wood LOMC cartridge, Fosgate Signature phono preamp.

I didn't realize that I have not updated my post on this thread.

My Grand Pianos have been powered for the past year or so by Mcintosh MC275v6 in stereo mode. The grand pianos love the tube power. It gives the Sonus the oompphh that it requires. If I move up the Sonus Faber totem pole looks like I have to get another mc275 and do a mono-mono configuration.

Hello! I'm from Russia and new to this forum.
I'm going to buy SF Olympia III for my house and looking for amp for it.
What do you think - one mc275 will be enough? Or better take two in mono mode? Pre gonna be c2300. Or better think in SS field?
Thank you.
