I would love to try out the C-37 with my Accuphase setup. Have no doubt it would well with the 3850 and the A-70. The quandary is the fact it does not have balanced inputs, sigh. I have invested in a XLR VPI junction box and spent some dollars on Transparent interconnects. The Sumaudio 810lp is a great phono amp, but Sim likes sim gear. Guess it will do for now. With said I am seriously looking at phasemation from Japan. Listened to it the other day and wow, what a great glow. Congrats on your purchase. Have no doubt you will love it.

After a long painful run in, the C-37 is singing pretty sweetly. Build quality is out of this world and is quiet as a mouse.
Having a phono stage with 100k loading for MM cartridges is a great option as many MM's sound so much better loaded at 100k. notice the common sense approach of one ground terminal per input. |

No Stillpoints under Accuphase?

Nup. Have not tried them to be honest under the Accuphase. Generally the tube front end components benefit most from Stillpoints.

Mine just got here yesterday. I think I’m in the painful run in stage. Gets better with each spin, but I’m SO relieved to hear you mention the run in needed. Sounded like going back to a terrible dorm room system in terms of bass response and shrill treble. Lots and lots wider and deeper sound stage and super super quiet (like it’s not even there), but miserable the first times through. Seems to improve with each album side now though. |

Congrats on your new C-37. I'm sure you'll love it.
Even fresh out of the box, my C-37 played much better as the interim phono amp I've used before.

It’s better (wider deeper quieter and more precise), but shrill and brittle. It’s improving with every spin though, so I am by no means down about it. I may try a Hagerman frybaby2, rather than burn up the stylus on this stuff. Anyone have any experience with them?

Congrats!
Just keep sending it music and eventually it will open up. Last edited by Canonicus; 09-29-2018 at 08:08 AM. |

Very nice. Especially like that it is has three (3) inputs, as I run two TAs. At the moment, switching between the two is no big deal as one has to start the LP, etc. But, having two, or more, inputs would be nice.
Can the various inputs & loadings be selected via the remote? All that ask/said, I'm very pleasantly surprised by how good the AD-50 sounds. As with the C-37, very quiet and smooth.
