Default What Classical Music Are You Listening To Tonight?

Very nice recording on Hanssler Classic. I’m not familiar with Evgeni Koroliov but his playingg here is brilliant.

A new-to-me composer, Brazilian Alberto Nepomuceno. Interesting music and an overall good recording.

More from Evgeni Koroliov, along with his wife Ljupka Georgieva and former student Anna Vinnitskaya. Great set!

We just heard the Danses and the Conte Fantastique live, albeit with another string quartet, the Quatuor Zaïde, and for the harp pieces, with Anneleen Lenaerts, a Flemish harpist, soloist of the Wiener Philharmoniker (!).
They also played a piece from her brother Wouter Lenaerts, similar in style, Visions.
And a, splendidly played, Ravel String Quartet.
Lenaerts brought Claire de Lune, arrangement for harp, by herself.
All 5 young ladies were outstanding.

This album is very enjoyable too.
Good recording.

By the way, Caplet is a composer that I didn't know before this concert, but that I am going to examine closer.
The work they played and that I'm listening to right now is very beautiful (Conte Fantastique, after a tale from Edgar Allen Poe).

Revisiting this album.
Great!

Well played and recorded masterpieces.

In October, we attended a concert with Queyras, playing the 6 Bach Cello Suites in one go, without pause (!).
Rosas, the ensemble of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, gave us a wonderfully artistic dance performance on the pieces.
The dancers and the cellist: they all delivered an effort worthy of an olympic athlete.

Revisiting this album.
Wonderfully played.

It's hard to beat older Philips LPs for sound. (The playing is pretty good, too!)

This LP derives from the backup analog tapes made during the digital sessions. Definitely sounds less sterile than the CD, but still not audiophile quality. I like some of his playing, but his use of staccato isn't to my taste.
