Hi,
I still need to schedule audition with my dealer once all 3 pre-amps are on premise, hopefully soon.

Also, McIntosh recently released C49 which is a bit more “future proof” with the DAC module that is upgradable. It looks interesting. I am hoping they will also announce this year same set up with upgradable DAC for a new C52 or C2600 (same as C1100/D1100 but at lower cost). If this happens, I would be very interested, and may sell PS Audio DAC.

Old thread— I just upgraded from a C2600 to C1100. Still wrapping my head around the changes. I should have done it earlier. As reviews say, quieter leading to more details and sound stage. I like.

Almost bought one here a few years ago but I waned tone control for the trebly 80s (didn’t know C1100 lacked that). With a different DAC and power conditioning I haven’t actually used tone control in a while. Also I now have enough muscle on the Roon core to adjust EQ there if I decide it’s needed (wish there was a way to flag albums for a treatment filter).

Went from a C2200 > C2300 > C1100. Wow! I thought the C2300 was the pinnacle for me. Glad I made the leap - huge upgrade in sonics. A truly “black” background and so quiet. I am done on the preamp end.

Congratulations! There is all to like and nothing to dislike about the C-1100. It's my favorite Mac pre.

Best

I hear ya. I’ve had my C1100 since … end of 2016…. Still running with original stock tubes. Fantastic preamp.
