Marc's new pictures of his system got me motivated this afternoon to update all my system pictures, lighting is pretty dim in the room but they came out ok. Check back on the first page for the updated pics. Once I get the DCS Rossini in, I'll post a couple more.

Congrats Buck!!! I have been researching dCS Rossini hard all week, contemplating Aurender W20SE/dCS Rossini/dCS clock as a destination digital rig.

The Rossini (and the Bartok for that matter) pretty much checks all the boxes as a full digital solution unless you have to have a built in hard drive. Other than that, it's going to do everything I need. I know there's a ton of tinkering in our hobby, but I can't wait to play with some of the upsampling filters using my Ayre CD player as a transport, that's really gonna be fun to see what more a can get out of the standard silver disc. I did a lot of reading on the Aurenders....I don't have much experience with them at all so I can't speak to first hand demonstrations or anything, but three things steered me toward other products, the first were some very lukewarm reviews here and there I read about various models in their lineup. Second, there are always an absolute crap ton of Aurender components for sale on the used market, through dealers, 'Agon, everywhere you look they are everywhere. Third, the internal DAC of an Aurender most likely isn't going to be better than the DAC in the Ayre C5 xemp. Now of course most of them are less expensive than the Rossini, so not exactly an apples to apples comparison to be fair.

The Aurender and DCS are two completely different components. Some of the lower tier Aurenders include DACs and are priced between 2-4Kish. Barton starts around 12K?

You will have more options with the DCS to stream and feed it other digital sources like your CD.

The higher end Aurender N10 and W20s are audip servers that also offer streaming and include a pretty powerful OCXO clock that DAN jDandy put up against Esoterics clock on a KO1(X)? that held its ground.

Look what made it's way home yesterday!! Awesome, I unboxed it last night, listening impressions and some pictures I'll put in the DCS Rossini thread, first initial impressions are very positive using my Ayre C5xe MP player as a transport. I didn't have a lot of time yesterday, so I didn't even test the streaming capabilities yet, that will be tonight with a temporary cable/setup.

Thanks Rob, this kind of just fell into my lap after we talked last time, didn't think I would be doing something like this piece of gear, but it checked all the boxes and fit what I was going for. I'll talk to you before Denver.
