It sounds like I'm good then with an Airport Express since I don't have any music files above 16/44.1. After further investigation, it might be jitter that is causing the signal to constantly drop out due to the DAC not locking onto the signal. Before upgrading to a new Airport Express, I think I'll try inserting a Remedy into the system and see if that fixes things. Thanks for the help!

What is it then? My iPad is right next to the Airport Express so its not like I have interference due to distance. I don't have any problems with my airport base station going in and out and I don't have any problems with the airport express when used for wifi. I only have problems with the airport express when it's set to be used for AirPlay. My Apple TV I use with my theater system also never cuts out when I AirPlay through it, only the Airport Express seems to cut out with AirPlay. The reason I thought it might be jitter is because I did some research on Computeraudiophile last night and it seems to be the consensus that the Airport Express suffers from a lot of jitter and therefore the DAC won't stay locked on to it. I personally don't know how all that works, I'm just relaying what I have read.

Sonos will not play a track greater than 16/44. Period. The mod up samples the signal to the dac but this does not change the fact that the maximum resolution track played is 16/44
