Ortofon Cadenzia Blue MC Cartridge On The Way!!!

Jeff.......If you are replacing ta MM for the MC cartridge, move the Gold Lions from the MM phono stage to the MC phono stage. Just move the stock tubes to the other phono stage. I am very happy with Gold Lion's in my C2300 line stage and Telefunken's in my phono stage.

Dan... I will be running 2 TT's. So I need to replace the last stock tubes in the mc section. I was wondering about Telefunken's there.

Congrats on the Ortofon Cadenza Blue. I will be very interested to see what you think of it. I've met Jeff a couple of times in person as he lives about 15 mins away, and he's a great guy. Good on ya for supporting an AA Sponsor.

As for tubes, I just put in some Gold Lion 12AX7s in my EAR last night and absolutely love them, so if you like them, I'd just go with another pair of those for the MC stage.

Just curious. Where did you source your TFKs from?

Stephen.......I originally had a source in Germany, NOS smooth plates at $125.00 each. It is a shame this source is no longer available. I bought four 12AX7's, and still have them. I have sourced Telefunken's from Tube Depot as well, and bought four Telefunken 12AT7's on Audiogon that I later gave to an AA member after I no longer had my C2200. In retrospect, I wish I had kept them. I could be using them in my MC2301's.

How did the TFKs from Tube Depot work out for you?

I have a matched pair of NOS smooth plates...I got these from Germany as well..check out these boxes...they must date from the 50s.

I bought two 12AX7 Teles from Tube Depot several years ago. I did not use them for quite sometime after I received them. I had the opportunity to test them in a calibrate tube tester and discovered one had a large difference between the triode sections, and the other tested fair. I still have them, but haven't used them.
