Ok ok.. will reconsider!
Here are those speakers that did the damage some 25 years ago. Was young and foolish back then!! The 16" risers were custom home made from 6-quarter birch plywood with multiple coats of wet-sanded gloss black lacquer. So.. it doesn't take 500 Watt or 1kW McIntosh amps to ruin you ears. Above are just two of the components (speakers and hardwood floors.) Other components involved were a MC 2200 amplifier, 6-packs of beer and "rock bar" mentality. The NS-1000 Monitors are long gone. They were bad ass speakers all right. -Gregory

When I finally reached the age that I could afford good HiFi gear, I developed Tinnitis, and now at age 65 the ringing in my ears is sometimes as loud as the music, but I just put up with it. I've had friends tell me that I won't need to upgrade my audio system any more because of the ringing in my ears. It is really annoying!
