He, like many others (me including), felt that it was a bit rude, chence - unnecessary.

BTW - here is the image:

IMO they should have gone with the Ref 75 style box - 75 is IMO the nicest looking ARC product right now. I wish the REF 150 looked the same.

Adam, thanks for the picture. I like the new design. It's a definite update to the VSi60 and matches their other gear more closely. It does seem strange not seeing the handles on a piece of ARC gear though, although I don't think I would pick this up by the handles even if they were there.

Indeed. I think they would look ill-proportioned on that half height fascia.

I'm a big fan of ARC handles. If I ever get ARC stuff again, I will custom order the classic silver look with black handles.

I agree I like the silver fascia with black handles (which is what I still have). I also agree that Ref 75 is nicest looking ARC product right now.

As a VSi60 owner, this is a nice step up
and I prefer to see the tubes instead of hiding them in a box. Tubes are cool and always elicit responses from guests who see my gear ("What are those?!") Looks kind of steampunk!

Totally agree. I did order my Ref Phono 2 SE in classic silver with black handles

BTW, thanks for the VSi 75 picture. I think it looks great.

I like it too, very retro with the exposed tubes.
