Are you certain the 550 shows 96khz in the front panel? spdif (w/o modification) can only output 48khz from blu-ray discs.

Does anybody know how to dim or turn off display on DP-550?
I did not find anything in manual.
Thank you.

To my knowledge you cannot dim it or turn it off. So it's not in the manual.

What do you think of the USB input of your DP550 fed by the Aries?
Is it "on par" with the sacd player?
Or it just "do the job"?

I've to explain my set-up: I've got the Aries with the Femto-Clock-Power Supply attached to the Accuphase PS-1220. As interconnect I'm using an Kimber KS-1236 Ag cable. Currently I'm trying the Up-Tone USB Regen, also power attached to the 1220, which seems to bring a little more improvement, but I can't do a direct A/B comparison.

In this set-up, for me its sounds great via the USB, for me it's on CD/SACD level. But, as said, it's personal impression, hard to proof.

I must to say that after burn-in player sounds even more spectacular.
To tell the truth I did not expected this level of sound from the "entry" level cd player.
It's playing cd's amazing!

It is their entry level SACD player, you also have a DP-410 and a DP-510 which are lower on the Accuphase ladder and only play CDs.
Congrats!
It is a terrific player!

I have the Auralic Aries going to the DP550 via usb. Sound awesome. Can anyone comment using the DC37 instead of the DP550? Is to worth it?
