I don't know if it's still true here or at your local Post Office, but as of a few years ago, people here could go to the local office and put a stop on Bulk Business Mail to their address (aka junk mail to the public). I forget if it was effective for 6 months or a year. Also not sure if it stopped any regular weekly advertiser - Penney Pincher, Dollar Saver, etc.

Worth a try?

Massive junk mail is one sign of a growing economy. Businesses have more money to spend on advertising.

Print is still not dead.

Junk mail is unstoppable.

I just throw it into the garbage on my way from the mailbox to the garage.

Very little of it ever makes it into the house.

same as you, i have 3 different Email addresses, one business, one personal for bills and anything for a money trail (pay pal, amazon, recurring accounts) a 3rd for all else, pretty much just hobby stuff.

On the rare occasion I do receive junk Email I simply take the time to unsubscribe . (this might be the key)

the problem is with physical mail...

it's out of control...

seems we pay the mail-person to deliver it and the trash collector to take it away

Man no kidding... I didn't even think of that. Even adds to waste of time and energy.

Unless you are certain that the junk email is from a reputable sender (like an established business that you recognize and previously have done business with and you've verified that the link is legitimate) it is not advisable to click on any unsubscribe links. Such links will typically only confirm that yours is a valid email address and often results in your address then being sold to more active spammers.

I never ran into these downsides, instead I enjoy a clutter free inbox.

Phishing Emails I simply delete.

For years I wondered why folks complained about junk Email. Then one day I realized it was because I was anal retentive that I have always avoided the problem.
