Inexpensive Phono Pre Amp
Anyone care to share their thoughts on inexpensive (sub $200) phono pre amps.
Thanks... There are a bunch of them out there... Cambridge, NAD, Bellari, Music Hall, Pro-Ject, Thornes, Rega.... |

Don't have much experience with them other than the Bellari tubed I used in my system for a little while. Not the quietest phono stage out there, not the most neutral, it is kind of tubey sounding but it is very lush and seductive sounding, especially in the midrange.

Thanks Serge, I was just reading though your old posts and found that you had used the Bellari for a time...

I've used the Rega and Musical Fidelity at the time were about $400-$500. I much preferred the Parasound Z Phono at $150. It smoked the Rega and Musical Fidelity both. You can also use a regular power cord with the Z Phono instead of the wall wart wigh the Rega and Musical Fidelity. Check out Vinyl Records, SACDs, DVD Audio, Audiophile Equipment | Acoustic Sounds for more info.
